Field Service Engineer – Heavy Plant Machinery
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 + Company Van + Overtime

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading national Plant Hire company covering Oxford and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with experience working on Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment, Powered Access or Generators to join a well-established business offering excellent earning potential, a company van and long-term career progression.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and breakdown support of a wide range of Plant and Construction Machinery at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Generators, Powered Access equipment and other Plant Machinery.
- Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Responding to machinery breakdowns and ensuring equipment is returned to operation efficiently.
- Completing routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Carrying out inspections and ensuring machinery meets safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
- Working independently in the field while liaising with the depot and service teams.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Mobile Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar.
- Experience working on Plant Machinery, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Machinery, Powered Access or Generators.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- Ability to diagnose and repair machinery independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
Engineers from Agricultural, HGV, Forklift and similar mechanical engineering backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
