NEOS Engineering are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of forklifts and material handling equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Test and commission forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe use of PPE
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients on-site

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a forklift or material handling engineer
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience with counterbalance, reach, and order picker forklifts
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Manufacturer-specific training or accreditation
  • Experience with major forklift brands (e.g., Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Crown, Still)
  • NVQ or equivalent in mechanical/engineering maintenance
  • Experience with heavy industrial or warehouse equipment
