The Opportunity
NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a leading earthworks contractor delivering major UK infrastructure projects.
They're looking for a Service Manager to take full ownership of plant maintenance, compliance, and fleet performance across a large earthmoving fleet.
This is a business-critical role, keeping machines running and projects moving.
The Role
- Drive plant availability through PPM and maintenance strategies
- Balance reactive vs preventative maintenance
- Lead and manage engineers, fitters, and inspectors
- Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, DVSA & OEM standards
- Control budgets, parts spend, and lifecycle costs
- Manage OEMs, suppliers, and service providers
- Report on uptime, reliability, and performance
You'll sit between plant, ops, and commercial — making sure everything works.
The Candidate
- Background in heavy plant / earthmoving equipment
- Experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar
- Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies & compliance
- Proven team leadership across workshop & field
- Commercially aware — costs, budgets, lifecycle
- Comfortable with CMMS systems and reporting
