Job Description

HV SAP (Senior Authorised Person)

Location: Manchester
Salary: £75,000 to £90,000 + Vehicle + Bonus + 25 Days Holiday

Neos Engineering are working with a leading national engineering contractor specialising in high-voltage (HV) switchgear and power distribution across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects, they are seeking an experienced HV SAP to join their team in the North West.

The Role:

  • Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) responsible for HV switchgear operations and safety on live sites
  • Manage site authorisations, switching activities, and safety procedures in line with DNO and company standards
  • Supervise HV isolations, testing, and commissioning tasks
  • Liaise with DNOs, site teams, and clients to ensure project safety and compliance
  • Lead safety briefings, risk assessments, and ensure adherence to relevant legislation
  • Maintain accurate documentation including switching schedules and test reports
  • Support project delivery teams during installation and maintenance phases

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as an HV SAP or similar role in the utilities, construction, or engineering sectors
  • Full DNO authorisation (preferably ENWL, NPG, SPEN, or other Midlands-based networks)
  • Strong knowledge of HV safety rules, isolation procedures, and operational standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Capable of managing multiple stakeholders and projects concurrently
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Midlands region
