Job Purpose:
As a Mobile Plant Fitter you will be servicing and maintaining a vast range of construction and earthmoving equipment. The role will involve supporting the wider, major projects team by completing schedule/routine services on a range of excavators, ADTs, Dozers, Telehandlers, Compaction & Agricultural equipment, as well as preventive maintenance and consumable fitting and replacement. The role of the Mobile Plant Engineer will thrive with someone who is able to self-manage and has customer facing abilities.
Main Responsibilities of a Mobile Plant Fitter:
- The routine servicing of construction equipment in line with manufacturers schedule and specification.
- Regular Lubricant and fluid monitoring and replenishment.
- Preventative maintenance/monitoring.
- Fault reporting.
- Cleaning, inspecting and preparing plant for transfer or redeployment.
- Fitting replacement parts.
- Working alongside other team members on larger maintenance/repair tasks.
- Assisting installation of GPS Systems, human form recognition cameras, height and slew restrictors and any other innovations as the role develops.
A good Mobile Plant Fitter will have:
- Good mechanical knowledge.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Experience of plant and construction equipment and hydraulic systems.
- Experience of conducting routine maintenance to a required level and standard.
- Understanding of Risk assessments and method statements.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good Time Management.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Essential Requirements and qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in plant maintenance (or working towards).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full Driving Licence.
