About the Company
We are working with a well-established and highly respected business within the waste and fleet sector. Known for high standards across their operation, they are continuing to invest in their workshop and are now looking to bring in an Early Shift Supervisor to support day-to-day fleet activities.
The Role
This is a hands-on position, split between the workshop and office, where you will take responsibility for planning and overseeing the early shift. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning daily workloads for the team and yourself
- Ensuring PMIs and MOT preparations are completed to a high standard
- Managing and resolving ad-hoc defects throughout the day
- Supporting parts ordering and stock requirements
- Liaising with third-party suppliers and booking external work
- Ensuring all paperwork and compliance documentation is completed accurately
- Communicating closely with the transport department regarding vehicle status
- Maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times
Compliance is absolutely key in this role.
The Candidate
- Strong knowledge of HGVs and a variety of fleet vehicles
- Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Experience in a senior technician or supervisory role
- Highly organised with strong communication skills
- Comfortable with both hands-on work and admin responsibilities
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Active, practical approach to work
- Class 1 or Class 2 licence (desirable)
