Position: Design Manager – Mechanical Bias Location: Greater Manchester, UK My client are a leading engineering firm specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of low-carbon power generation systems. They are at the forefront of decentralized energy solutions, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, peaking plants, and backup diesel generators. Reporting to the Head of Project and Design, your responsibilities will include: Producing detailed engineering design packs for mechanical, electrical, and process systems. Supporting the lifecycle of projects, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Battery Energy Storage, and emerging technologies. Managing design resources and ensuring designs meet safety-critical standards. Collaborating across teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Skills and Experience A degree in mechanical engineering with at least 2 years of experience in power generation, or an HND/C Level 3 qualification with 3 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge in process engineering, electrical distribution, building services, pipework, ventilation design, and health & safety regulations (CDM). Proven success in managing engineering design teams and energy projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or equivalent software. A valid driving licence. JBRP1_UKTJ
