NEOS Engineering Recruitment are partnering with a highly successful and well-established business to recruit an experienced Depot Manager for their Milton Keynes Depot. This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for a depot managing a small team and a wide variety of plant equipment. This is not a desk-based role. It is hands-on, demanding, and suited to someone who thrives in high-responsibility environments and enjoys running a tight, efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Full operational and commercial responsibility for the depot
- Leading, managing, and developing a team of 5–10 staff
- Driving utilisation, availability, and asset performance
- Ensuring maintenance standards are met and upheld
- Ownership of Health & Safety compliance and best practice
- Managing performance, productivity, and daily operational challenges
- Maintaining high customer service standards
- Driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and profitability
- Acting as the senior decision-maker on site
Operating Hours
Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:30
This is a demanding leadership role requiring resilience, commitment, and strong decision-making.
Equipment Responsibility
You will have responsibility for a mixed fleet including:
- Heavy Plant
- Modular / Site Accommodation
- Generators
- Powered Access Equipment
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience managing a busy, profitable depot or similar operation
- Is a strong, confident people manager
- Can lead from the front and hold high standards
- Is commercially aware and operationally strong
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments
- Lives within 20 miles MK Depot
Qualifications (Required / Strongly Preferred)
- First Aid
- IOSH or SMSTS
- Strong leadership capability
- Commercial awareness
- Common sense and sound judgement
