NEOS Engineering are recruiting for an experienced After Sales Manager to join a leading global heavy equipment and plant machinery manufacturer based in Biggleswade. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong service leadership professional with a background in plant engineering, heavy equipment, construction machinery or powered access to lead a busy aftersales operation focused on service delivery, profitability, customer support and team performance.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Biggleswade aftersales depot
- Manage field service engineers and aftersales support teams
- Drive labour utilisation, WIP control and workshop efficiency
- Ensure jobs progress through to invoicing within target timeframes
- Provide high-level technical support to engineers and customers
- Oversee warranty claims, parts returns and aftersales administration
- Drive revenue across service, repairs and parts sales
- Review P&L performance and identify areas for improvement
- Support accurate quotations and commercial opportunities
- Conduct appraisals, performance reviews and team development
- Lead toolbox talks, training and health & safety compliance
- Build strong customer relationships and resolve escalated issues
The Candidate
- Plant Engineering NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (preferable)
- Strong plant machinery or heavy equipment engineering background
- Previous experience leading service or aftersales teams
- Strong commercial awareness and customer service skills
- Ability to manage teams within a fast-paced engineering environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
