NEOS Engineering are partnering with a leading plant hire business who are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join their workshop and field engineering team. This is a premium-level operation where standards are high, equipment is modern, and the successful Plant Fitter will take real ownership of keeping a high-performing fleet in peak condition.

This position is ideal for a Plant Fitter who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving complex mechanical issues, and wants a stable, long-term role with a company that invests heavily in its machinery and people.

The Role:

  • Service, repair and maintain a wide fleet of plant machinery
  • Diagnose engine faults, complete strip-downs and rebuilds (rocker covers, internals, etc.)
  • Carry out major and minor repairs to compressors and trailers — the most frequent tasks in this role
  • Deliver reactive and planned maintenance as a mobile Plant Fitter when required
  • Ensure all equipment is compliant, reliable, safe and ready for hire
  • Complete thorough documentation and inspection reports
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail — reliability and uptime are critical

You will work across a mixed and modern fleet, including:

  • Excavators
  • Dumpers
  • Rollers
  • Compressors
  • Generators
  • Trailers (1.5–3 tonne)
  • Cabin welfare units (7/12/15 person – hybrid solar)
  • Telehandlers
  • Bowsers

This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Fitter who enjoys varied work, modern kit and the chance to work across both workshop and field-based engineering.

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Workshop Fitter or Mobile Plant Fitter
  • Strong background in engine diagnostics, strip-downs and repairs
  • Confident working on compressors, trailers and mixed plant fleets
  • High personal standards — someone who wants the job done properly first time
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit engineering team
  • Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining a high-quality hire fleet
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred for mobile work)
