NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and earthworks contractor, who are looking to appoint an experienced Lead Heavy Plant Engineer to support their operations across the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys responsibility, variety and working on a wide range of machinery while supporting a busy fleet that is critical to major infrastructure and earthworks projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a fleet of heavy plant equipment including ADT's, dumpers, excavators and other large earthmoving machinery. You will play a key role within the engineering function, ensuring machines are maintained to a high standard, faults are diagnosed efficiently and downtime across the fleet is kept to an absolute minimum.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Previous experience working on heavy plant equipment
- Confidence working independently while supporting the wider engineering team
- Experience working on equipment such as Volvo, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or similar OEM machinery would be highly beneficial
The Role:
- Service, maintenance and repair of heavy plant equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Supporting engineering operations across the fleet
- Ensuring machinery uptime and reliability on busy projects
- Working on equipment including ADT's, dumpers, excavators and associated plant
The Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Engineer
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Experience working on earthmoving machinery
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
