Installation Engineer – Machine Control Systems – Midlands

Location: Midlands

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Installation Engineer to join our client’s team, specializing in the fitting and integration of safety and control systems onto heavy plant machinery . This role is ideal for engineers with experience installing machine control, telematics, or safety systems such as Leica, Trimble, GKD, Prolec, or similar technologies .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and calibrate safety, monitoring, and control systems on a variety of heavy plant and construction machinery.
  • Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault resolution to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Work closely with plant operators and site teams to ensure correct system setup and compliance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of installed systems when required.
  • Provide training and technical support to operators on the correct use of installed equipment.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and complete required documentation.
  • Travel to client sites across the Midlands for on-site installations and support .

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience installing machine control systems, telematics, or electronic control units (ECUs) on plant machinery, HGVs, or construction equipment .
  • Understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems in heavy plant or construction equipment.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical installation manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for diagnostics and troubleshooting .
  • Full UK driving license (essential, as travel is required).
  • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one (preferred).
