Job Description Technical Engineer - Generator \n Location: South - Field-based with office working Salary: £45,000 - £53,000 + Company Vehicle + Overtime Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Employment: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity \n We are working with a long-established specialist in critical power, standby power and energy systems , with over 40 years' experience supplying, installing, hiring and maintaining generators, UPS systems and switchgear across the UK. \n Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Technical Engineer - Generator to join their Maintenance team. \n This is a senior technical support position, combining field-based engineering, technical support, site surveys, project support and engineer development . \n The role will suit an experienced generator engineer who has developed strong technical knowledge and is comfortable supporting engineers, customers and internal teams. The Role \n You will provide technical support across the company's generator products, working closely with engineers, customers, Service Coordinators and the wider Technical team. \n Although predominantly road-based, the role will also involve office working and supporting the wider business with technical projects, audits, training and quality control. Key Responsibilities \n \n Provide technical support to engineers, customers and internal teams. \n Provide back-office technical support to Service Coordinators. \n Support Maintenance Projects and associated technical requirements. \n Review and support engineer reports. \n Work with the Technical Team and Senior Technical Engineer on product development and improvements. \n Provide out-of-hours technical support to customers and engineers as part of the OOH management team. \n Carry out and support site audits. \n Complete site surveys for Maintenance Sales and remedial works. \n Compile accurate parts lists following site surveys. \n Support the Senior Technical Engineer and Maintenance Director with engineer training and development. \n Support engineer quality control and technical standards. \n Compile and approve RAMS. \n Act as a technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. \n What We're Looking For \n We are looking for an experienced Generator Engineer / Senior Generator Engineer / Technical Engineer / Generator Technical Support Engineer with strong practical knowledge of generator systems and associated controls. Essential Experience \n \n Strong practical engineering knowledge of generators and UPS systems . \n Previous experience within the generator / critical power industry . \n Practical knowledge of fuel tank installation. \n Experience with high-level software-based generator control systems such as ComAp and Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) . \n Experience using laptop-based engine analysis and control software, including ComAp PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite . \n Experience with multi-set and mains synchronisation controls . \n PLC programming knowledge. \n Strong customer-facing and communication skills. \n Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. \n Comfortable with high-mileage driving and working away from home. \n Ability to make decisions and solve technical problems in a fast-moving environment. \n Desirable \n \n Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification. \n Broader UPS / critical power experience. \n Further generator control or manufacturer-specific training. \n Package & Benefits \n \n £45,000 - £53,000 basic salary \n Company vehicle \n Overtime available \n Cashplan health benefit \n Bonus scheme \n Enhanced pension \n 25 days' holiday, increasing with company loyalty \n Enhanced maternity and paternity leave \n Relevant technical training \n Long-term career development opportunities \n \n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
