NEOS Engineering are working exclusively with a well-established UK machinery specialist that supplies and supports heavy plant equipment nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Service Manager to take ownership of their service operation from the Newark depot. This role suits a hands-on leader who enjoys managing engineers, driving standards and remaining technically involved where needed.
You will be responsible for leading both field-based and workshop engineers, ensuring servicing, maintenance and repairs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Acting as the key link between engineers, customers and senior management, you will play a critical role in aftersales performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage and support a team of field and workshop service engineers
- Plan and coordinate servicing, maintenance and repair activities across customer sites and the workshop
- Allocate daily workloads, prioritising jobs to meet SLAs and customer expectations
- Act as the primary technical and aftersales point of contact for customers
- Provide technical guidance and fault-finding support to engineers
- Drive high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance
- Monitor performance, productivity and job completion
- Work closely with senior management to improve service delivery and customer experience
- Previous experience as a Service Manager, Service Controller, Service Supervisor, Workshop Supervisor or Senior Engineer
- Strong technical background in heavy plant
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and support engineers
- Confident balancing hands-on technical involvement with operational management
- Strong organisational, communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence
- £45,000 – £55,000 salary (depending on experience)
