Generator Maintenance Engineer
South / South-East London

Neos Engineering are partnered with a well-established and reputable critical power systems provider, who operate nationwide across standby power, UPS, and generator maintenance markets. With a strong financial position and over 40 years of industry expertise, they are now looking to strengthen their engineering team with a dedicated Generator Maintenance Engineer based in the South/South-East London area.

The Role

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance, remedial works and fault-finding on diesel generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.

  • Attend reactive call-outs as a first responder, resolving on-site issues with minimal disruption to the client.

  • Utilise diagnostic software such as Comap PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite.

  • Accurately complete service reports and communicate effectively with the support team.

  • Participate in a paid call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support where required.

  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and professionalism as a mobile brand ambassador.

  • Work primarily within your assigned region, with occasional travel and overnight stays across the UK.

The Candidate

  • Minimum of 3 years\’ hands-on experience as a Generator Service Engineer or similar field-based role.

  • Strong practical knowledge of LV electrical power generation and distribution systems.

  • Competent with software-based control systems (e.g., Comap, Deep Sea).

  • Confident working independently with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Comfortable with regular driving and remote working.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • IT proficient, including experience with Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • IEE 18th Edition qualified.

  • Gas Safe registered.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.

  • CSCS card.

  • Basic electrical/mechanical tool kit.
