Maintenance Engineer – CHP
Essex
£36,000 – £45,000 + Overtime + Vehicle + Benefits

Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading UK technical specialist in standby power, uninterruptible power supplies, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems. With over 40 years\’ experience, this well-established business supplies, installs, hires, and maintains critical power systems across multiple UK locations.

The Role

  • Carry out routine servicing and reactive repairs on CHP units ranging from 30kW to 500kW across the UK.

  • Respond to breakdowns as a first responder, often working independently with strong office support.

  • Travel extensively with a company vehicle, occasionally requiring overnight stays and a flexible approach to working hours.

  • Deliver high-quality site reports highlighting any required actions and opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide technical support to internal teams and customers, assisting with training when needed.

  • Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain excellent professional standards as a brand ambassador.

The Candidate

  • Minimum 3 years\’ experience as a CHP service engineer or similar role.

  • Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems (pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, boiler operations, BMS controls).

  • Electrical engineering expertise in LV power generation and distribution.

  • Experienced with software control systems such as Comap, Web Supervisor, Inteli Monitor, Lite Edit, TEM, TPEM.

  • MWM trained is desirable.

  • Skilled with complex diagnostic equipment (flue gas analysers, water flow and temperature profiling devices).

  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, with excellent communication and customer liaison skills.

  • Comfortable with high mileage driving and working away from home.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification essential, plus IEE 18th Edition qualified.

  • Proficient IT skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and bespoke engine system analysis software.
