We are recruiting for an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer to join a well-established and growing organisation within the heavy plant and construction equipment sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled field-based engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair work across a varied fleet of machinery. This role involves working at customer sites, carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum machine uptime and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, breakdown diagnostics, and repairs on heavy plant and construction machinery
  • Complete warranty work and damage repairs to manufacturer standards
  • Attend site visits across multiple locations as required
  • Accurately record all work completed and parts used via a company-issued iPad system
  • Ensure maximum machine availability and 100% recovery of equipment under your care

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain and take responsibility for a fully equipped company service vehicle, reporting any defects promptly
  • Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal teams
  • Follow all company health & safety procedures and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within the heavy plant or construction equipment industry
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
  • CSCS card preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with computer-based engine diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based role
  • High attention to detail and a conscientious approach to safety and quality
  • Previous dealer or manufacturer experience advantageous but not essential

Education

  • Good general level of education including English, Maths, and IT literacy
