Hire Controller Bromley £30,000 to £35,000 + Benefits + Bonus + Healthcare NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a well-established Plant Hire company who are looking for a commercially minded Hire Controller to join their busy hire desk. We're looking for someone who isn't just an order taker. We want someone who is confident on the phone, understands customer requirements and has the commercial awareness to upsell equipment, maximise hire opportunities and get the most out of every enquiry.
The Role:
Handling incoming hire enquiries and converting them into bookings. Identifying opportunities to upsell additional equipment and services. Building strong relationships with existing customers and maintaining repeat business. Advising customers on suitable plant machinery for their requirements. Negotiating hire rates and maximising revenue from incoming enquiries. Managing the full hire process from initial enquiry through to off-hire. Liaising with transport, workshop and depot teams to ensure smooth equipment delivery.
Ensuring excellent customer service throughout the hire process. The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience as a Hire Controller, Hire Desk Controller or Hire Coordinator. Background within Plant Hire, Tool Hire, Powered Access or a similar industry. Strong internal sales skills and a natural ability to upsell. Confident, personable and comfortable speaking with customers over the phone. Commercially aware with good negotiation skills. Organised and capable of managing a busy hire desk.
Someone who takes ownership of customer enquiries rather than simply processing orders. What's on Offer: Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience. Monday to Friday, 7am – 5pm. Permanent position within an established Plant Hire business. Opportunity for career development and progression.
