An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant Hire Hydraulic Engineer to join a busy and growing engineering operation across multiple UK depot locations. This role would suit somebody with a strong background within plant hire, construction equipment, heavy plant, agricultural machinery, forklifts or powered access equipment who has strong hydraulic, mechanical and diagnostic experience.

The role will involve carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of plant and hydraulic equipment, both within the workshop and occasionally on customer sites where required.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant hire equipment
  • Diagnosing faults across hydraulic, mechanical and basic electrical systems
  • Hydraulic hose replacement, ram repairs and hydraulic fault finding
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Carrying out inspections and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)
  • Attending breakdowns and rectifying faults efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate service records and job sheets
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures
  • Liaising with parts departments and workshop management teams
  • Supporting workshop operations and maintaining high engineering standards

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
