Role Overview:We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Structured Cabling Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing racks, containment systems, and terminating structured cabling. You will also conduct thorough testing to ensure the integrity and performance of the cabling systems. You will primarily work in Scotland, serving our critical infrastructure customer.
Key Responsibilities:- Installation: Install racks and containment systems with precision and attention to detail, ensuring installation to a high standard.
- Termination: Terminate structured cabling, ensuring connections are reliable and meet industry standards.
- Testing: Conduct fibre testing to verify the performance and quality of the cabling systems, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Electrical Work: Perform electrical tasks as required, contributing to the overall functionality and safety of the infrastructure.
- Supervision: Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards. Conduct audits to maintain quality and compliance.
- Travel: Working in various locations throughout Scotland.
- Experience in rack and containment installation & in fibre installation, splicing, and testing.
- Knowledge of working in Substation/CDM environments.
- Full driving licence.
- Great problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service ethic and skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative & to stay calm under pressurised conditions.
Electrical qualification or experience.
