The role
Undertake installation, maintenance, and fault repair of Neos Networks telecoms network and associated equipment in accordance with work instructions to ensure service standards are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Provide advice and decisions on engineering solutions and timescales.
Installation and Maintenance
Undertake installation and maintenance work in accordance with work instructions and procedures in a safe and efficient manner to meet service standards. Clearly communicate results back to the originator as required and ensure remedial work is properly recorded.
Network Faults
Manage fault diagnosis and repairs under your own control, working with NEOS NETWORKS, Power Systems, Generation and Specialist Contractors as required, to assist with the restoration of network operations and achieve service standards.
Team Management Support
Provide local support to the Team Managers, providing staff supervision, work allocation.
Resource Requirements
Liaise with the Resource Coordinator, Team Manager and Project Managers, confirming the scope of the work and materials required to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Projects Engineering
Manage multiple or large operational & service delivery projects that are assigned to you; to cover resource requirements, purchase of equipment, build design and change control. Provide regular progress reports to the budget owner.
Technical Support
Provide technical expertise and advice to less experienced staff so that service requests and fault repairs are organized and completed quickly, efficiently and to customers' satisfaction.
Team Working
Contribute to developing team working within NEOS NETWORKS and with other departments to support the provision of an effective and safe service.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Understanding of technical requirements of NEOS NETWORKS and customers’ equipment & of how NEOS NETWORKS’s data and telecommunications systems support other businesses
- Understanding of how NEOS NETWORKS operates its commercial business.
- Detailed knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
- Minimum educational qualification to ONC level in relevant discipline or relevant experience.
- Fault finding, repair and maintenance on the core technologies below, including complex/non-routine without supervision across most of these technologies:
- Digital Microwave
- PMR
- Fibre
- Cabling and Termination
- PDH
- All RTU Types
- SDH
- Scanning Radio

- Ability to use own initiative to work to deadlines and cope with business delivery and commercial pressures.
- Capable of balancing workload and job conflicts and completing tasks.
- Work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
