Role DescriptionAn IT Infrastructure Engineer is required to support and maintain the core systems underpinning our network management platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft Windows-based environments including Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2022. The role involves utilising Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MEMCM) to deploy patches, operating system upgrades, and applications. In addition application packaging skills are needed to support operational requirements. Responsibilities also include deploying new infrastructure solutions, monitoring performance, conducting preventative maintenance, and resolving faults across hardware, software, and networks. The engineer will apply security best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and collaborate across teams to provide support for projects and incident resolution. This role requires you to be available out of hours on a rota, and to attend our office in Havant two days a week. You will also be required to be SC vetted.
Key Accountabilities- Infrastructure Delivery & Maintenance: Ensure the availability, security, and performance of both cloud-based and on-premise IT systems and infrastructure components.
- Automate common repetitive tasks to save time by working more efficiently.
- Assist with the design, deployment, and maintenance of applications, servers, networks, storage systems, backup services, and cloud services.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring tools and security measures to protect IT assets.
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and the IT Service Catalogue to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Perform out-of-hours support to ensure the business keeps running when critical systems experience downtime, scheduled maintenance is required, or urgent incidents arise outside of standard operating hours.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+, and the Telecoms Security Act.
- Collaborate with the Security Team to implement and maintain security controls and threat mitigation strategies, using tools such as the CIS Benchmark Suite.
- Assist with internal infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Primary Skill requirements: Windows + Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 + Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 + Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and DFS + PowerShell + Remote Desktop Services + PKI Certificate Services.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Organised and capable of working to tight deadlines.
- Experience using ITIL frameworks and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
