What is the role?
Neos Networks is seeking an experienced Telecoms Field Technician/Engineer to join our busy and growing team, supporting project delivery across the South Coast and the M4 corridor. Reporting to the England Field Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality work across a wide range of technologies and environments. Following a structured training period, you will be expected to work with increasing autonomy. This is a diverse, hands‑on field role. Your working day could take you from installing transmission nodes in state‑of‑the‑art data centres to replacing microwave radio links at height. A reliable, self‑starting attitude and strong attention to detail are essential. As part of the Out‑of‑Hours Standby Rota, you’ll be an integral member of a team responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of multiple technologies supporting global organisations and national utilities—operating 24/7/365.
What do I need?
- Minimum educational qualification: ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or significant relevant work experience.
- Strong fault‑finding, repair and maintenance capability across the following core technologies, including complex and non‑routine work with minimal supervision: PMR, Fibre Cabling & Termination, SDH, Ethernet.
- Ability to diagnose and repair most non‑core technologies under guidance.
- Significant operational experience with telecommunications networks, plant and equipment.
- Previous experience of climbing/rigging and/or working in Electrical Substations would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
