The Role

As Depot Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring excellent customer service, commercial performance and operational efficiency. The depot hires a wide range of plant, tools and specialist equipment, operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the depot team.
  • Drive hire revenue and maximise profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety and compliance.
  • Manage fleet utilisation, workshop and transport operations.
  • Monitor KPIs, depot performance and service levels.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new business.

About You

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Commercially aware with a focus on customer service.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, transactional environment.
  • Experience within plant & tool hire is highly desirable.

This opportunity would particularly suit someone from a smaller, service-led hire business where plant and tool hire go hand in hand, rather than someone who has only operated within large heavy plant environments.
