Business Development Manager β Property & Construction (no experience in the industry needed)
Location: Remote / Home-based β UK-wide opportunities
Employment type: Full-time
Build relationships. Create opportunities. Get rewarded.
NEOS Recruitment is partnering with an ambitious, growing business within the property and construction sector to recruit multiple Business Development Managers across the North West, Yorkshire, the Midlands and London.
This is an exciting opportunity for commercially minded individuals who enjoy meeting people, building meaningful relationships and turning conversations into business opportunities, with the autonomy, support and earning potential to match.
No property or construction experience? No problem.
The opportunity
This is not a traditional, script-led sales role built around endless cold calls. Instead, you'll focus on developing a strong network, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities through purposeful conversations, client meetings and industry events. You'll have the freedom to manage your diary.
Key responsibilities
- Build and develop relationships with senior decision-makers across the property and construction sectors.
- Attend client meetings, networking events, corporate functions, awards, race days and client hospitality events.
- Understand clients' commercial requirements and identify opportunities to connect the right people and businesses.
- Facilitate meaningful introductions and nurture relationships to generate measurable commercial results.
- Develop a strong regional pipeline of prospects, clients and business opportunities.
- Manage your pipeline, follow-ups and performance against agreed commercial targets.
- Retain and grow existing relationships while identifying opportunities to expand accounts and generate new revenue.
- Represent the business professionally, building credibility and trust with clients and industry contacts.
- Collaborate with colleagues, share market insight and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
What we're looking for
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and an ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities.
- Confidence managing your own workload, diary and priorities.
- A proactive, resilient approach and accountability for results.
- The ability to represent a business with professionalism, warmth and discretion.
- A willingness to travel regularly for client meetings and industry events.
Property and construction experience is advantageous but not essential. We're also keen to hear from people with backgrounds in hospitality, events, recruitment, partnerships, professional services, agencies or other relationship-led commercial environments.
This is a genuinely remote, home-based position, with your working week centred around face-to-face client meetings, networking and industry events within your region.
What's on offer?
- Β£37,000-Β£55,000 basic salary plus an attractive, uncapped bonus structure.
- 28 days' annual leave in total, including UK bank holidays.
- Fully remote working with genuine autonomy and flexibility.
- Your own full-time, dedicated business support person.
- Company laptop and mobile phone allowance.
- Company expense card for approved client meetings and hospitality.
- Mileage reimbursed at HMRC rates.
- Business travel to London and Europe for relevant client meetings and industry events, subject to company arrangements.
- Ongoing training, sector development and opportunities for career progression.
- Company pension and referral programme.
