  • About the Opportunity

We are working with a leading hospitality and entertainment group that is expanding its portfolio of high-profile venues across Manchester.

The business operates across hospitality, nightlife, live entertainment, restaurants and events, and is entering an exciting period of growth.

As the group continues to develop, they are looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function across a number of busy, high-volume venues.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and clear commercial insight for senior leadership and venue managers.

You will be responsible for

  • Delivering monthly management accounts, including balance-sheet integrity, commentary and KPI analysis.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling.
  • Managing cash flow, weekly payment runs and bank reconciliations.
  • Overseeing the reconciliation of EPOS takings, presales, PDQ receipts and cash banking.
  • Supporting year-end accounts, audit preparation and statutory compliance.
  • Overseeing VAT, FEU, MGD and National Statistics submissions.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and reconciliation.
  • Conducting venue audits to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Providing commercial analysis to improve profitability and support business decisions.
  • Working closely with venue managers and senior leadership.
  • Supporting and developing an Accounts Assistant.
  • Improving finance systems, processes and reporting as the group expands.

About You

We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or an experienced finance professional, with a strong background in financial control, management accounts and commercial finance .

You will ideally have experience in

  • Hospitality, leisure, restaurants, bars, entertainment, events or another high-volume, multi-site environment.
  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
  • Managing financial controls and reconciliations.
  • Working closely with operational teams to improve financial performance.
  • Leading or developing junior finance staff.

You will be commercially minded, organised and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders is essential.
