This position is being advertised on behalf of Neon Contracts, who are operating as an Employment Business.

We are now recruiting for someone looking for a proactive and hands-on Quality Engineer role. You will support our UK business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with manufacturing and logistic teams, solving technical quality problems, supporting customer investigations, and helping to strengthen quality systems across a busy environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, ATEX, UL, supporting product and process approvals, improving RFT performance and driving effective corrective actions across the business.

What you'll do:

  • Support the maintenance, implementation and CI of the QMS across the business, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, UL and ATEX customer and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate containment, corrective and preventive actions, ensuring actions are completed effectively, verified for effectiveness and closed within agreed timescales.
  • Lead and support investigations into customer complaints, internal non-conformances and process failures using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why and fishbone analysis.
  • Provide hands-on quality engineering support to Production, Assembly, Warehouse, Technical and Engineering teams to ensure product and process quality standards are understood and maintained.
  • Support the Quality Lead in the effective delivery and quality assurance goals and standards.
  • Support first-off, in-process and final inspection activities, product validation, testing, traceability checks and release of product in line with agreed specifications and procedures.
  • Prepare, review and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, control plans, inspection records, Certificates of Conformity, Material Test Certificates, PPAP, FAI and customer quality packs.
  • Conduct internal audits, support external/customer audits, raise audit findings and follow up corrective actions to support ongoing QMS compliance and continual improvement.
  • Monitor and report quality performance through KPIs, trend analysis and improvement activities, supporting reduction of defects, repeat issues, customer complaints and cost of poor quality.
  • Conduct product testing and evaluation to verify product conformance against applicable specifications, standards and customer requirements.

What you bring:

  • Essential BS EN ISO 9001 & Desirable UL and ATEX.
  • Three years experience in a quality engineering role or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident working with cross-functional teams and challenging non-conforming practices professionally.
  • Competent in using Microsoft office applications (minimum).
  • Experience investigating customer complaints, internal non-conformances.
  • Practical understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action tools such as 8D, 5 Why and fishbone.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering, assembly, fabrication, cable management, electrical, construction products or similar technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, inspection standards or technical requirements.
  • Good understanding of inspection, testing, first-off approval, process control and product release.
  • Experience with PPAP, FAI, control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEA.
  • Able to work independently, make evidence-based decisions and escalate appropriately.
