Our client is a growing provider of essential business services, offering solutions to a broad range of commercial, industrial and public-sector organisations throughout the UK. As the business continues to expand, they are looking to recruit an ambitious and proactive Internal Business Development Executive to support their commercial growth strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities and contributing to business growth.

Working remotely, you will play a key role in identifying prospective clients, generating qualified opportunities and arranging meetings for the Business Development team. Working closely with field-based sales professionals, you will act as the first point of contact for potential clients, building relationships with key decision-makers and creating opportunities that contribute to long-term business growth.

This position would be particularly well suited to candidates currently working within Construction, Facilities Management, Industrial Services, Security, Cleaning, Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance, Environmental Services or other business-to-business service environments, who enjoy generating opportunities, building relationships and supporting wider sales teams in winning new business.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with a positive attitude, strong organisational skills and previous experience within a business-to-business sales environment.

The Role

This is a sales-focused position responsible for identifying potential clients, generating leads and creating opportunities for the wider commercial team. You will engage with businesses across a range of commercial and industrial sectors, introducing the company's services and building relationships with key decision-makers. Communication will be primarily via telephone, email and online platforms, ensuring a professional and positive experience for all prospective clients. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to generate quality opportunities, build a consistent pipeline and arrange meetings that support the Business Development Managers in securing new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with prospective clients across a range of commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Generate and qualify new business opportunities through outbound activity.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Arrange qualified appointments and meetings for the Business Development team.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Maintain accurate records and activity updates within the CRM system.
  • Support the preparation of sales reports and pipeline updates.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to maximise opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and market trends.
  • Achieve agreed activity levels and performance objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

The Individual

  • Previous experience within a B2B sales, telesales, lead generation, appointment-setting or customer-facing commercial role is essential.
  • Candidates with experience gained within Construction, Facilities Management, Industrial Services, Security, Cleaning, Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance, Environmental Services or other outsourced service sectors are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
