NeoGenomics is looking for a Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a remote position with a Monday – Friday, day shift.

Position Summary: The Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist works within the Clinical Programs group, with a primary focus on processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing data from clinical cohorts and trials. They ensure that the analysis of sequencing runs is performed in a timely and reliable manner, monitoring the clinical data through a series of metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Support the clinical team in analyzing data from clinical projects
- Ensure samples are processed and results delivered within the target turnaround time (TAT)
- Technical review of sequencing data
- Perform non-standard assay processing of clinical samples
- Lead data transfer activities
- Attend, prepare and present material at international meetings of relevance, in alignment with company priorities
- Lead exploratory data analysis to generate publishable material and/or inform R&D efforts regarding the current and future application of MRD assays
- Follow all written procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements
- Aid in the preparation of custom reports and analyses for collaborators
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in the field of computational biology, bioinformatics, or applied sciences, or significant industry experience in a relevant field required
- 2 years of bioinformatics experience in an academic or, preferred, industry setting
- Solid understanding of NGS analysis
- Scientific programming experience in R and/or Python (Essential)
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries in R/Python such as ggplot2 or matplotlib (Essential)
- Experience working in a UNIX environment (Essential)
- Experience with or strong desire to learn next generation sequence data analysis (Essential)
- Experience with cancer genomics data (Desired)
- Experience with variant calling and exome/WGS pipelines (Desired)
- Prior experience with work in a regulated environment
