Step into a high-impact regional role where your tax expertise will shape compliance and reporting across a diverse portfolio of entities in EMEA and APAC. As Tax Manager - EMEA & APAC, you will oversee corporate tax and VAT/indirect tax for approximately 20 legal entities, working closely with senior stakeholders, regional finance teams and external advisors. This is an opportunity to apply your technical skills in a complex international environment, contribute to robust tax governance, and support an organisation with global reach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate external accounting firms in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and year-end tax provisions for entities across EMEA and APAC.
- Oversee all corporate tax and VAT/indirect tax reporting and compliance requirements (including Pillar 2, CbCR and equivalent APAC obligations), ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Support and review intercompany transfer pricing studies, monitor intercompany transactions throughout the year, and assist with the development and implementation of transfer pricing policies and intercompany contracts.
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of corporate tax and VAT/indirect tax accounts, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation and systems requirements are in place.
- Manage inquiries, reviews and audits from tax authorities in relevant jurisdictions, providing robust, well-documented responses and recommendations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (including Controlling, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Accounts Receivable) to provide practical tax guidance on day-to-day transactions and support financial audits, tax modelling and other ad-hoc projects.
Job Requirements
- Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with substantial post-qualification experience.
- Typically 6+ years' experience in a professional services or industry environment, with strong exposure to multinational corporate tax.
- Proven experience in corporate tax compliance and tax provisioning, together with practical experience of VAT/indirect tax in multi-jurisdictional settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and manage external advisors, and to oversee tax matters for multiple legal entities.
- Strong technical skills, including experience with large ERP systems (such as Sage or SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities for managing complex data sets and models.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present technical and numerical information clearly to non-specialist stakeholders and to work effectively across regions and cultures.
- Eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with applicable right to work legislation, and a commitment to complying with all relevant company policies, including those relating to GDPR, confidentiality, health and safety, anti-bribery and equal opportunities.
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience with EMEA and APAC tax environments, prior experience in a US-headquartered multinational group, familiarity with SOX or similar internal control frameworks, experience with tax technology and automation tools, and additional language skills relevant to EMEA or APAC jurisdictions.
