Location: Reading / Guildford areas
You will be required to evidence your experience and IFE / IFSM certification. The Fire Consultant will be employed on a "sub-contract" basis. The Fire Consultant will deliver an excellent fire risk assessment report and act as a key point of contact for customers during the site visit, ensuring they positively influence the customer’s perception of the company.
The Fire Consultant will undertake fire risk assessments for customers, make necessary recommendations verbally whilst on site, and document them in the formal report.
Person Specification- Full understanding of the current legislation in relation to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Full understanding of the relevant British Standards relating to fire and life safety systems
- Confident and self-aware with the ability to communicate professionally
- Able to build and maintain long-term professional relationships with internal members of staff
- Produce high quality work and the best quality report
- Effective organisation to ensure on-time delivery of report to end user
- Experience of carrying out assessments for all types of buildings (Commercial, Industrial and Domestic) – 2 redacted FRA reports will be requested
- Excellent computer/electronic device skills
- Demonstrate an industry-leading fire safety knowledge to enable an industry-leading and compliant fire risk assessment
- Produce accurate and efficient paperwork at all times
- Collaborate with the admin team to produce effective working practices
- Ensure best practice methods are used in the execution of the fire risk assessments
- Be fully responsible for the quality of service to the fire risk assessment customers and staff
- Keep up to date with all current fire legislation and apply it to assessments
- Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments
- Accredited to "Member" level – Institute of Fire Engineers or Institute of Fire Safety Managers or on the IFSM or IFE "competent risk assessor" register
- High levels of literacy and written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Able to plan and organise workloads to meet time frames for service delivery
- Full UK driving licence
- Additional recognisable and professional qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments from creditable providers:
- Fire Protection Association
- Fire Industry Association
- NEBOSH Fire
