Neo International Partners is currently leading a global campaign to identify and recruit an experienced and dynamic Project Director for an iconic multi-billion-pound project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and iconic contractor.
A globally respected infrastructure contractor is seeking a Project Director to lead the delivery of a major, multi-billion-pound infrastructure programme in the UK. This position is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional with extensive international experience to spearhead the execution of one of the most significant infrastructure programmes currently in procurement and development in Europe.
The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team through all stages of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through to final handover, ensuring successful delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning and delivery of a major infrastructure project exceeding £1bn in value.
- Oversee all phases of project development including procurement, design integration, construction, commissioning, and client handover.
- Provide strategic leadership to a large-scale delivery team, including engineering, commercial, construction, and programme control functions.
- Foster a collaborative culture across contractors, consultants, client teams, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and champion a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
- Manage the project’s commercial strategy including cost control, contract administration, and value engineering initiatives.
- Act as the main point of contact with senior stakeholders, representing the organisation with clarity and authority at executive and governmental levels.
- Monitor progress against programme milestones, maintaining control of budgets and KPIs, and proactively implementing mitigation measures.
- Proven experience in the successful delivery of multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects across transportation, tunnelling, water, or energy sectors.
- Strong international pedigree, ideally with experience managing joint ventures or consortia on major projects in complex stakeholder environments.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; chartered status preferred.
- Deep knowledge of NEC contracts and the commercial frameworks of major UK infrastructure projects.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, capable of managing large, diverse teams.
- Experience engaging with senior government, regulatory, and client bodies.
- A track record of delivering projects in line with sustainability and ESG targets will be advantageous.
