We work closely with our clients throughout the duration of projects to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of their requirements and to achieve optimum designs. Our team consists of experienced and accredited planners, engineers and multi‑disciplinary environmental consultants, ensuring we provide a full suite of in‑house collaborative services for projects. We have an enviable track record for successfully consenting projects, whether small or complex, through our comprehensive understanding of planning requirements, particularly in the renewable energy industry.

The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in Acoustics and have studied an acoustics‑related course at university. For the right candidate this position offers excellent career progression and development with the chance to grow in a specialist professional environment. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, with the main focus on renewable energy developments along with industrial, commercial, construction and residential schemes. You will be given plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through ongoing mentoring and training in a friendly environment. The ideal candidate will have an excellent technical focus, as well as report writing ability in order to contribute to the delivery of technical reports for planning stages of projects. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and contribute to the excellent working environment found here at Neo Environmental. The role is practical, hands‑on, and varied, combining site work, modelling, analysis, and report writing. These skills are the foundation of a strong career as an acoustician, which you will develop with close support of experienced consultants.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting on site surveys which will include detailed noise surveys along with visual walk around surveys for proposed renewable energy sites.
  • May also be required to conduct site surveys to support the hydrology and transport teams.
  • Analysing data and contributing to clear, high-quality technical reports to be submitted for planning purposes.
  • Conducting various technical assessments for projects such as renewable energy, industrial, commercial and residential.
  • Assessment types include BS4142, BS5228 and BS8233 noise assessments.
  • Providing support to Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants.
  • Use of various industry and in‑house software packages.
  • Engaging with other in‑house multi‑disciplinary team members.
  • Liaising with sister companies, clients and local authorities.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a completed university degree in preferably Audio, Music Production or Acoustics.
  • An ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and working to the highest standards.
  • Full UK clean driving license.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Own transport (required within 3 months of starting role).
