We have an exciting opportunity for a Second in Charge of Science to join Nene Park Academy! You will play a key role in assisting in the leadership of the science department and providing class teachers with expert subject knowledge. Your wealth of experience and knowledge will provide valuable support and guidance to promote a positive learning environment within the curriculum team.
The opportunity:
- Have a secure knowledge of the relevant subject, with a KS5 focus and foster and maintain pupils’ interest in the subject, and address misunderstandings.
- Support the Curriculum Area Lead on the delivery of the specific subject area, monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching practice across the subject.
- Ensure all subject teachers are informed of changes to curriculum and pedagogical developments at both local and national level.
- Support in the monitoring and evaluating of the progress of all students ensuring that they are appropriately taught and prepared for all external exams.
- Oversee the reporting of students' progress to parents ensuring that parents are informed of issues affecting the progress of their child and supporting teachers with any issues that arise.

- Qualified Teacher Status
- Excellent classroom practitioner and ability to build strong, meaningful relationships.
- Experience of providing subject knowledge to students and teachers.
- Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity.
