This is a primary care-based Pharmacy Assistant role supporting pharmacy operations within a healthcare setting. There is no direct patient contact. The Pharmacy Assistant plays a key role in managing medicinal stock, prescription preparation, inventory control, and administrative support to pharmacy teams across multiple sites. The role requires attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a proactive, innovative approach suitable for a fast-paced primary care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medicinal stock including stock checks, top-ups, ordering, discrepancy tracking, waste management, and reporting.
  • Monitor pharmaceutical storage temperatures and escalate any breaches promptly to the pharmacy technician.
  • Support Medicines Optimisation Committee through meeting coordination, minute taking, and updating action logs.
  • Assist with prescription pack preparation.
  • Support training activities for clinical and non-clinical staff related to safe stock handling.
  • Prepare stock for dispensing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, including repackaging, overlabelling, and ensuring legal compliance for pharmacist review (excluding controlled drugs).
