The Head of Clinical Delivery PC24 is a senior clinical management post responsible for the safe, effective and consistent day-to-day delivery of NEMS urgent primary care services at Kings Mill Hospital. The postholder will provide visible clinical leadership, manage the non-medical clinical workforce and take ownership of clinical quality, performance and service standards.
The postholder will form part of the service leadership triumvirate alongside the Medical Lead and Operational Service Manager. The Medical Lead will provide medical governance, professional medical oversight and strategic leadership, whilst the Operational Service Manager will ordinarily lead on rotas, sickness administration and annual leave. The Head of Clinical Delivery will lead the day-to-day clinical management of the service and the performance and development of its clinical workforce. These responsibilities are complementary and require close working between all three roles.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will lead agreed clinical and service improvements at PC24. Working with colleagues and partner organisations, they will ensure that workforce, clinical pathways, safety arrangements and operating procedures support safe, effective care and meet service requirements.
The post requires an experienced, Masters-qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner who can combine senior management responsibilities with regular autonomous clinical practice. As a guide, approximately 60% of working time will be clinical and 40% managerial, adjusted by agreement where service needs require.
The postholder will work closely with the designated Clinical Governance Lead and Governance Team, attend senior and service-level meetings, lead a monthly clinical team meeting and deputise for the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality when requested.
