The role is with one of the world's leading providers of specialist services into the Space sector.
You'll be joining a team of 20 or so experienced engineers, at a senior level.
The initial focus of the role is a major UK government programme.
The programme isn't solely space-focused but draws on our client's expertise, particularly in Earth Observation.
It's a huge programme with hundreds of stakeholders and is centred around a cutting-edge technology platform that deals with enormous volumes of data and transactions.
The overall mission of the programme has major implications for the protection and improvement of our environment.
The Senior Software Engineer/Software Architect will undertake a number of roles on the programme:
- Management and improvement of the underlying infrastructure including cloud services, security, automation
- Developing new web applications and maintaining existing ones, across a range of technologies
- Architecture design for new applications and features
- Team leadership and technical management
- Stakeholder management, authoring of techncial proposals and documentation

Our client's main office is in Bedfordshire.
Working patterns are flexible and the role can be largely done remotely: you may need to visit once a month, though if you're more local you'd be very welcome in the office more frequently.
