We're delighted to be working with this global technology company that has been innovating in the Space sector for many decades. This particular role sits in the area of our client's business focused on the Defence sector and will be aligned to a major satellite communications programme. We're looking for a talented Systems Engineer with a good understanding of the Space Segment and experience of technical assurance and verification.
Space Segment knowledge is the most important requirement for this role (preferably GEO). Additional expertise in subsystems - for instance Payload Engineering, or a background in Firmware, DSP, RF, FPGA or hardware generally - would be helpful.
The role:
- Providing technical & design assurance and systems engineering expertise
- Monitoring, assessing and reporting on supplier progress
- Consulting with client on programme risks and recommendations for success
- Monitor Space Segment verification processes and documentation
- Manage evidence review and clarification against requirements
- Review technical documentation
- Monitor manufacture and testing of hardware
Requirements:
- Strong Systems Engineer skills with good knowledge of the Space Segment
- A specialism - especially in DSP, Firmware, FPGA areas would be useful
- Proven experience in undertaking Verification tasks
- Able to build strong technical arguments and articulate these to suppliers
- Strong stakeholder management experience with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working on government projects would be useful
- Must be able to obtain UK security clearance
The role is hybrid and you'll likely spend time weekly on site with the client or suppliers. These sites are typically in the south west and south east of England, so being located in that neck of the woods would be the most practical.
