The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

The role involves maintaining all equipment and control systems at the plant, ensuring production lines run reliably and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all training relevant to the position is completed and kept up to date.
  • Adhering to cGMP environment requirements.
  • Carrying out the planned preventive maintenance programme.
  • Ensuring production lines operate at maximum efficiency through continuous improvement processes.
  • Performing in-depth fault finding, diagnosis, and breakdown repairs.
  • Assisting with machine changeovers and training technicians as necessary.
  • Providing technical input into key operations projects.
  • Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance duties.
  • Training production staff as required.
  • Supporting quality investigations and performing root cause analysis.
  • Assisting in stock control and management.
  • Keeping track of all in-house engineering activities and updating stakeholders.
  • Providing updates on critical breakdowns to the Engineering Manager and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A Time-Served Electrical Engineer.
  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent (Maths and English).
  • HNC/HND Engineering qualification.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 18th Edition BS 7671:2018 regulations.
  • Understanding of 415V AC – 24V DC 3 phase/single phase motors, Servos, VSD’s, VLT’s, Inverters.
  • Installation of containment, cable glanding, and controls.
  • Ability to understand and interpret wiring diagrams and PLC systems.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced GMP environment.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Experience with FMCG packaging machinery or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in areas such as liquid filling, cartoning systems, labelling, tube filling, and shrink wrap systems.

Abilities and Behaviours:

  • Professional and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good interactive and communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload under pressure.
  • IT literate (Excel and ideally SAP).
  • Good fault finding skills and ability to read ladder diagrams.
  • Adaptable and keen to learn.
