The Role
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our team of specialists who are recognised in The Legal 500. Due to continuing growth and success an excellent opportunity has arisen at our Leicester office. We are ideally looking for a Newly Qualified having done a Clinical Negligence training seat or someone with up to 3 years post-qualification experience in this area to join our expanding team of Clinical Negligence specialists.
The successful candidate will inherit some existing cases initially and there will be a requirement to build upon this with a view to running their own full Clinical Negligence caseload. We are looking for candidates with a positive and proactive outlook and approach who thrive on working in a busy and pressured environment and who are keen to play an active role in business development through attending networking and marketing events where necessary.
On joining an established Clinical Negligence team handling a high-quality, predominantly multi-track caseload, you'll work with a supportive team, dealing with complex and sensitive matters while making a real difference to injured clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence files from inception to settlement/trial.
- Assess liability, quantum and merits, instructing experts and counsel as appropriate.
- Draft pleadings, schedules, witness statements and instructions to counsel/experts.
- Attend conferences, settlement meetings and mediations.
- Provide empathetic, clear and practical advice to clients.
- Contribute to business development and the wider profile of the team.
