Nelson Recruitment Services are actively looking for a Senior Buyer to join one of our clients in the Redditch area, joining their procurement team.
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours
Duration: Permanent role
This is a key role within the business, supporting the Procurement Manager in developing and delivering strategic procurement plans across our key areas of spend. You will take the lead on the sourcing, procurement and supplier management of products for resale, with a primary focus on lighting within one of their key brands, while also having the opportunity to work across additional product categories. You will play an important role in ensuring we achieve the right balance of cost, quality, availability and service, while building strong supplier partnerships and identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and the wider supply chain.
Duties:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to meet organizational needs while optimizing costs and quality standards
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimise cost, quality and service levels
- Build and manage strong, effective relationships with key suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial terms to deliver best value and mitigate risk
- Identify and deliver measurable cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities
- Develop and monitor procurement KPIs, including savings, supplier performance, OTIF, lead times, purchase price variance and contract compliance
- Produce clear, actionable procurement reports for senior management
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to procurement processes and ways of working
- Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Product Development, Inventory, Customer Services, Finance, Logistics and Warehouse teams
