Nelson Recruitment are currently URGENTLY recruiting for a Customs Clearance Clerk / Shipping Operative on behalf of their client based in Tyseley, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customs professional to join a growing and well‑established operation.
Location: Tyseley, Birmingham
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Role Overview
- Processing CDS import and export entries (essential requirement)
- Handling road freight (EU) and/or deep‑sea shipments
- Managing customs documentation and ensuring full compliance
- Supporting shipping operations across European and/or deep‑sea movements
- Liaising with internal teams, freight forwarders, and external stakeholders
Key Requirement
- Proven, hands‑on CDS customs clearance experience is mandatory
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in customs clearance and shipping operations
- Strong understanding of customs procedures and compliance
- Experience with EU road freight and/or deep‑sea shipping
