Nelson Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and automation company for an experienced Panel Wireman to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical professional to work on a variety of exciting projects across industrial and commercial sectors. Opportunities are available for both workshop-based panel wiring and field-based installation and commissioning support, making this an ideal role for candidates looking to develop their career within the controls and automation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings and schematics.
- Install, terminate, and test electrical components and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Carry out inspections, fault-finding, and quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Support panel modifications, upgrades, and repairs as required.
- Assist with on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Panel Wireman, Electrical Fitter, Control Panel Builder, or similar role.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience wiring control panels and industrial electrical equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Full UK Driving Licence is desirable, particularly for field-based positions.
