Mechanical Engineering Manager – Up to £60,000 Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands Here at NPP an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Manager to join one of our clients, who are a well-established company based in West Bromwich. Specialising in industrial manufacturing, this is a key role within a highly skilled Engineering team at a lower-tier COMAH facility. We are looking for someone to join the team immediately and make a real impact. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments, overseeing a team of 25 staff and additional contractors when required. * Lead the Mechanical Maintenance department and manage Mechanical Project Engineering, ensuring efficient operations within an industrial manufacturing environment. * Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to optimise processes. * Maintain and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all installations and maintenance activities adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with all legal, statutory, and company requirements. * Liaise effectively across all levels of the company, as well as with external contacts such as suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE and insurance inspectors). Qualifications and Experience: * A minimum of an HNC in Mechanical Engineering (a degree in Mechanical Engineering would be desirable). * At least 10 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role. * Strong personnel management skills and excellent computer skills are essential. * Experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational priorities.
