Nelson Permanent Placements are recruiting for a leading independently owned property and infrastructure support services company, delivering integrated building and facilities management solutions. With over 1,000 staff supporting major Blue-Chip clients across manufacturing, food, government and private sectors, they are seeking a Compliance Team Leader for the North West area. The role focuses on electrical compliance projects including machinery safety upgrades, control panel remedials, and ATEX installations and inspections.
The position involves leading a team delivering high-quality compliance-driven electrical installations across the UK, often working within multi-discipline project teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced industrial controls electrician with team-leading experience, strong technical standards and good reporting skills. Duties include investigation work, cross-discipline collaboration and overseeing installation activities from mobilisation through to project completion.
The key responsibilities of this role as a Compliance Team Leader are:
- Lead a team of compliance engineers across a range of works, including:
- Installation of automation and safety-related control system components (new and existing)
- Installation of cabling and containment systems
- Assessment of electrical panels and completion of remedial work
- Electrical testing of new and existing installations
- Installation work within designated ATEX environments
- ATEX inspections and asset remedial actions
Support the project manager in delivering:
- Mobilisation and a clear understanding of project installation requirements
- Achievement of project installation timelines
- Quality control throughout all stages of work
- Commissioning activities
- Completion of all required project documentation
Qualifications and Skills of a Compliance Team Leader:
- Lead a team carrying out electrical installations within industrial and manufacturing environments
- Install electrical cable systems and containment
- Work from wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams and termination drawings
- Build and work on both new and existing automation and control panels
- Knowledge of PLC control wiring, instrumentation and motor starter control arrangements
- Understanding of standards relating to machinery safety and electrical control systems
- CompEx 01–06 and/or experience working in ATEX-designated areas
- Knowledge or experience of machinery safety and safety circuits, including an understanding of SIL and PLr ratings
- Electrical testing qualification such as C&G 2391-52
- Electrical qualifications such as BTEC and/or NVQ Level 3
- AM2 and 18th Edition as a minimum
- CompEx Dust and Gas certification as an advantage
- C&G Machinery Safety, PUWER, CompEx 01–06, C&G 2391-52 may be provided for the right candidate
The employment package for an Electrical Site Supervisor is:
- 40 hours per week plus overtime
- JIB+ rates: Basic of £42,000 - £47,000 with potential earnings up to £64,500 per year with overtime
