Nelson Permanent Placements are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer based in Coleshill.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment where you will play a key role in maintaining equipment, improving reliability, and supporting continuous improvement projects across the site.
The role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys a varied workload and is keen to develop their skills while contributing to future site projects and improvements.
Key Responsibilities of a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks safely and efficiently.
- Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Support the installation, modification, and commissioning of machinery and process equipment.
- Diagnose faults, complete root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
- Support reliability initiatives by identifying equipment trends and failure modes.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.
- Keep workshops, tools, and spare parts areas clean and organised.
- Support facilities maintenance tasks, including building, plumbing, and general site upkeep where required.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure production targets are achieved.
- To Be Considered for this Role as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
- MIG welding experience is desirable.
- FLT and/or Scissor Lift Licence would be advantageous.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- 18th Edition required.
- Comfortable assisting with general facilities and building maintenance tasks.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and support site improvement projects.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
