Nelson Permanent Placements are working with a leading provider of reactive and planned mechanical engineering services, supporting a wide range of industries with high-quality solutions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Electrical and Mechanical Fitter to join an experienced team based in King’s Lynn. This role is ideal for candidates with a mechanical background, as previous experience in the exact field is not essential. You will play a key part in maintaining, repairing, and servicing industrial equipment while ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend customer sites and carry out site assessments as required.
  • Strip, overhaul, and repair industrial gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as part of an on-call rota.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards through final inspection and pass-off processes.
  • Follow set procedures, guidelines, and company standards.
  • Work independently and to tight deadlines, taking initiative where necessary.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment.
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Adhere to Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a mechanical fitter; knowledge of industrial gearboxes, pumps, or electric motor assembly and refurbishment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to use precision workshop measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues on-site and in the workshop.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • High level of self-motivation, reliability, and flexibility.
