Nelson Permanent Placements are recruiting for a Health & Safety Environmental Manager on behalf of our client a specialist in construction, refurbishment and fit-out that covers the UK. Our client is long established and still expanding.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead the implementation, monitoring and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental standards across all projects. This is a hands on operational role which requires regular site attendance, building relationships with the site teams and sub-contractors. Reporting back to the MD
Duties
* Site visits, monitoring activities and conditions
* Supporting practical controls for working at height, roofing, access lifting, temporary works, plant, asbestos, dust and COSHH risks
* Checking welfare, housekeeping, access, site security, emergency arrangements and permits
* Allocate, monitor and verify closure of corrective actions, escalating serious or recurring issues
* Prepare and review project specific RAMS
* Verify implementations on site and revisions where needed
* Site inspections and compliance
* Environmental management, Implement ISO 14001 arrangements and inspect site environmental controls
* Check waste segregation, storage, disposal and relevant
