Nelson Permanent Placements are seeking an experienced Air Compressor Engineer to join a growing service team delivering high-quality support to a nationwide client base, including major blue-chip organisations. Based predominantly in the Midlands with national travel as required, this is a hands-on, field-based role working Monday to Friday. You will play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and installing oil-flooded and oil-free compressed air systems, ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on both oil-flooded and oil-free compressed air systems.
  • Performing precise mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
  • Installing and commissioning compressed air equipment when needed.
  • Accurately completing service reports and other documentation using paperless systems.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship at all times.
  • Developing and sustaining strong client relationships through professional service delivery.
  • Spotting opportunities to improve processes and expand service support.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues across service and management teams.

To be considered for this role you will be:

  • Proven experience in a similar compressed air engineering position.
  • Skilled in both mechanical and electrical fault-finding.
  • Confident working independently in a field-based role.
  • Professional, customer-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel across the UK as required.
  • OEM-trained (desirable).
  • Electrically qualified (desirable).
  • Familiar with oil-free compressors (advantageous).
  • F-Gas certified (advantageous).
  • Experienced with Nâ‚‚/Oâ‚‚ generation systems, dryers or central control systems (advantageous).
  • Comfortable using digital reporting tools and systems.
