At NPP, we’re currently seeking a Design Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the steel framing systems (SFS) sector. This role is based within their steel framing division, which delivers fast-track, lightweight galvanised steel building solutions to the construction industry.
Whether you’re a recent graduate in Structural or Civil Engineering or have 1–2 years of industry experience, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a market-leading business that offers genuine progression. About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be part of a team delivering technical solutions for medium-rise structural steel building systems. Reporting to the Design Office Manager, you’ll work on a variety of projects from concept through to completion, including liaising with clients and attending design meetings. This is a fully office-based position, working alongside a collaborative team of 20 design professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce structural designs for steel-framed medium-rise building systems
- Support project delivery through the design and drawing office
- Assist in providing technical advice and guidance to internal teams
- Liaise with clients to ensure design requirements are met and understood
- Attend design meetings and site visits across the UK when required
- Help ensure compliance with relevant building standards and regulations, including fire, thermal, and acoustic performance
Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (preferably Structural)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
- Some knowledge of Eurocodes (particularly BS EN1993 and BS EN1991) is advantageous
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive and organised approach to project work
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
